Organic Vegetable Gardening is our third seminar of 2020. Join us Saturday, February 8th at 1:00 p.m. for our Organic Vegetable Gardening Workshop held right here at the store. This workshop will be taught by Dick Broussard, and cover topics such as bed preparation, vegetable selection, organic garden products, and philosophies. The seminar will last approximately one hour and Dick will field questions at the end.
Exactly what does Organic mean, you ask?
Organic food production methods promote biodiversity, the biological cycling of plant diversity which attracts a variety of beneficial microorganisms and insects. Certified organic farmers may not use toxic synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilizers, and unnecessary hormones or antibiotics. Instead, they use practices that restore, maintain, and enhance soil and ecosystem health. GMOs, artificial ingredients, or trans fats may not be used.
In addition to skipping the risks, are the residual benefits of organic gardening. Without the negative potential of chemicals impacting your produce, organic vegetable gardening can also:
- Increase Vitamin D
- Provide Enjoyable Exercise
- Reduce Stress
- Provide Good Soil Bacteria Which Makes You Happier
Organic vegetable gardening has never been easier— By choosing organic seeds, using organic composts and avoiding synthetic pesticides, you can easily make the switch from synthetic to organic vegetable gardening.
